Golden Globes 2014 | Red Carpet Fashion Winners

Awards season is finally here and with it brings the opportunity for us all to play Fashion Police as the stars strut the red carpet in their formal attire.

The Golden Globes marks the first big awards show of the year and the attendees certainly came out with a bang... even if that bang was more of a bust in the style stakes.

Just like the awards themselves, the red carpet lends itself to producing winners and losers.
Here are a few of my favourite looks from the evening!

Taylor Swift

The nominee for best original song stunned in this pink and black colour blocked, strapless dress by Carolina Herrera. The asymmetrically gathered gown is a welcome change from Taylor's usual girly-glam look, giving her an effortlessly elegant appearance.

Zooey Deschanel

The actress, nominated for a Globe for her show New Girl, hit the mark in Oscar de la Renta whilst completely maintaining her own quirky personal style. The look was comprised of a cropped, cap sleeve top and a tulle skirt, both in a pale gold colour. LOVE.

Tatiana Maslany

Tatiana struck gold in this stunning floor length, shimmering Jenny Packham gown. Effortlessly chic and elegant.

Caitlin FitzGerald

The Masters of Sex actress set the colour-bar high in this powder blue Emilia Wickstead gown. Caitlin was on to a winner by pairing this 1950s-style silhouette dress with stunning blue and coral ankle strap pumps, also from Emilia Wickstead.

Emma Roberts

The young actress owned the red carpet showing off her sultry side in this black, off-the-shoulder Lanvin number. Such a simple black dress could easily come across as boring but with its dramatic neckline and striking hem, it is anything but. The dress is set off perfectly by turquoise drop earrings and a slicked back hairstyle.

Maria Menounos

The actress was pretty in pink hitting the red carpet, wearing this figure hugging, hot pink Max Azria Atelier dress. Complete with a flirty train and strategic cutouts, she most definitely hit the nail on the head with this look - I'm obsessed!

Louise Roe

The British born t.v. personality brightened up the red carpet in this  gorgeous coral Monique Lhuillier dress. The gown with it's cut-outs at the waist and sheer, lace sleeve overlay was relaxed with loose beachy waves.

And who can forget the men, who equally turned up the style stakes...

Leonardo DiCaprio

The Wolf of Wall Street star and Globe winner looked dapper in this Giorgio Armani tuxedo, accessorised with a black bow tie. All this look needed was a little bit more tailoring in the pant leg but all in all, a great look.

Bradley Cooper

The American Hustle actor looked suave in this perfectly tailored Tom Ford tuxedo. He may not have picked up a trophy last night but he certainly did produce a winning look - my favourite of the evening.

Jared Leto

The winner of the Globe for best supporting actor donned a Saint Laurent black tux. Still maintaining his signature rocker edge with the fringe scarf and slicked back ponytail, this was a great adaptation of Leto's personal style for the event.

What were your favourite looks of the evening?

Until next time,
G.
