Build Me Up Buttercup | Deborah Lippmann

If you've checked out the GIGANTIC haul that I uploaded to the blog last week, you'll recognise this lovely little thang. After I wrapped up all of my college work for the year I treated myself to a bitta retail therapy with Moms and I picked up this lil' cutie. I'm the type of person that buys a bottle of nail varnish and wears the crap out of it, so I don't really mind splurging a little on that type-a-thang! When it comes to Spring/Summer polish, you'll notice a bit of a recurring pattern in my collection - pastels! So it wasn't much of a shocker that I was drawn to this shade. I was actually planning on picking up Essie's 'Angel Food' when this ended up in my hands.. and then at the checkout... and then in my bedroom (it was all very sudden).

Anyhoos - I'd been hearing raving reviews throughout the blogosphere about the Deborah Lippmann polishes, so when I seen the display in Harvey Nichols I couldn't not have a look. This pastel yellow shade is part of the Deborah Lippmann 'Spring Reveries' collection. It's so creamy and buttery and I just lahhve it! One thing I will say is that you definitely need more than 1 coat of this stuff to achieve a good solid colour - but what polish doesn't? You could probably get away with 2 coats, but I have 3 on in the picture above. It's super long lasting - last week I accidentally wore it without a topcoat and it still managed to last 4 or 5 days without chipping, WTF? And can we just talk about the name? Build Me Up Buttercup? Really? So cute!! Yellow isn't typically a colour I'd jump at for a nail polish, but this is just so yummy!

Have you tried out any of the Deborah Lippmann polishes?
What do you think?

XO, G.
