What's On My Face | Make Up Forever HD Foundation

Happy Monday People!

Over the weekend I posted the makeup looks below on my Instagram account & my Facebook page and I had a lot of you asking me what foundation I was using - well done on your eyeballs noticing I switched it up!

Because of all of the inquiries, I thought, why not stick up a blog post on the stuff that I've been putting on my face this week!

If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you'll know that since the sun decided to show its face in Ireland I've started fake tanning and what does fake tanning usually call for? A darker foundation! Well that's what I used as my excuse to try out some new foundations anyway!

Last week I found myself wandering around Make Up For Ever after a masterclass with the lovely gals in the Dublin store and decided to pick up a few bits & bobs, one of which was the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. I'd heard so much about the stuff from other bloggers and YouTubers and I know a lot of MUA's use this on their clients so I couldn't walk out the door without this coming with me!

So what do I think of Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation!

Packaging
The most basic thing I love about this stuff is that it comes with a pump. Stupid, I know, but when you're paying that kinda money for foundation it's nice to know that you don't have to dip back into your purse to pick up a pump too.. Haha.

Formula
I use number 120 which is still quite a light shade, but it matches my 'tan' perfectly. The foundation itself is quite heavy, which took some adapting to after being so used to the weightlessness of Chanel's Perfection Lumiere Velvet (I still heart it!). That however, is probably the only thing I don't like about it! If you blend it well, it looks super on (clearly, it's made to look flawless even in HD - hence the name.) - it's all in the application!

Coverage
FAB FAB FAB!! I've had a few breakouts on my chin this week and this stuff managed to cover those bad boys up straight away! I find that you don't actually have to use a concealer with it at all. I like to take a bit more foundation on my ring finger and dab it on areas where there might be a little more redness than others and because the stuff is so pigmented, it covers it up straight away!

Longevity
So far I think it's got great staying power! You do have to powder well to set it - but I do that with all my foundations anyhoo! It might need one or two touch-ups throughout the day to take away a shine but what foundation doesn't. The actual 'colour' of the foundation doesn't go anywhere though! It's stayin' put!

So that's about it folks! If you're looking to invest in a foundation that has great staying power, fab coverage and looks flawless in photographs (who doesn't wanna look like a suuuupamodel), this one's for you!

Have you tried MUFE's HD Foundation?
